The National Center for Civil and Human Rights: Truth Series
Every movement begins with a story, and every story begins with truth.
Our Truth Series is a journey through three signature programs: Cup of Truth, Reel Truth, and Truth on the Rocks.
Each one offers a different path to discovery—whether it’s sharing ideas over coffee, watching stories unfold on screen, or exploring our galleries after dark.
At the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, we are committed to uncovering the truths that shape our past and guide our future. Through exhibitions, education, and immersive programming, we invite you to step into history and experience it in ways that spark dialogue and inspire action.
Truth on the Rocks
When the doors reopen after hours, the Center transforms. Music fills the galleries, conversations spark, and history meets nightlife. Truth on the Rocks invites guests to explore exhibitions in a relaxed, social setting while enjoying craft cocktails and curated experiences. It is an evening designed to connect culture, community, and conversation, where truth is experienced rather than simply observed.
February’s Truth of the Rocks has been postponed and will return in Spring 2026.
Cup of Truth
Intimate, thoughtful, and grounded in conversation, Cup of Truth brings authors, artists, and community leaders together to share ideas and lived experiences. Hosted at the Center and in local coffee shops, these gatherings create welcoming spaces for dialogue, where stories are exchanged, perspectives are expanded, and voices are centered.
Reel Truth
Through powerful films and documentaries, Reel Truth explores stories that challenge assumptions and illuminate overlooked histories. Each screening is followed by conversations with filmmakers, scholars, and cultural leaders who deepen the experience and invite audiences to engage critically with the truths behind the stories on screen.
