Experience the
Power to Inspire
Our most meaningful fundraiser of the year, an evening of inspiration and celebration.
Power to inspire is...
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights’ largest annual gathering. It’s an evening that brings together our community to honor those who have made bold, lasting contributions to the fight for civil and human rights. Past honorees include President Joe Biden (following his vice presidency), Ted Turner, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., The King Center, Mrs. Myrlie Evers-Williams, and most recently the Honorable Shirley Franklin.
This signature event fuels our mission: to inspire people to tap into their own power to create change. Support from Power to Inspire sustains our exhibitions and drives our year-round educational programs, civic trainings, and immersive visitor experiences.
Power to Inspire 2026 Is on the Horizon
Planning is underway for Power to Inspire 2026, our annual signature event, taking place on May 7, 2026. This year’s event will bring together civic, corporate, and community leaders for an unforgettable evening honoring individuals whose courage, leadership, and commitment advance civil and human rights.
If you or your organization are interested in sponsoring this landmark event, we invite you to be part of what’s next. Together, we can lift up legacies of courage and help shape the future of human rights education.
