Storytime
Join us for lively storytime sessions offered twice each Saturday, where stories jump off the page with energy, voices, and fun surprises. It’s a chance for kids to laugh, react, and get pulled right into the adventure.
Once a month, the story gets even more exciting with a special reading led by the author of the book. Kids get to hear the story the way it was meant to be told—and sometimes even ask questions and interact along the way.
Crafts
Let creativity take over with hands-on art activities that invite kids to build, design, and express themselves freely. From quick, colorful crafts to more immersive projects, every child gets to make something fun, unique, and proudly their own to take home.

Katina Lett (K. Lett) debuted The Jett Set, a childrens book series that promotes empathy, understanding, and inclusivity. The first book, Jetts Mind is Just Fine, follows a young boy navigating neurodivergence and celebrates different ways of thinking and being. Inspired by her own family, K. Lett created the series to shift social narrative by emphasizing that being different does not mean being deficient, and to help families and educators to support children with neurodivergent and physical challenges through stories rooted in love, kindness, and positivity. An accomplished attorney and mother of two successful adult sons, she continues to advocate for inclusivity through her writing.

Mama Koku

Mama Koku is known throughout Metro Atlanta for her extreme interactive and magnetic storytelling style. She rarely performs alone as students and audience members join her on stage for an energized, improvised “story-doing” experience. Koku graduated with honors from North Carolina Central University, majoring in theater with concentrations in performance and education. Early in her career, she taught in the classroom as a high school theatre teacher where she perfected her skills as a teaching artist, storyteller and children’s writer. Koku’s magnetic style once earned her the title of Official Teller for the National Black Arts Festival’s Education Village and The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Book Fair.

1202 Puppets

1202Puppets is an Atlanta-based educational puppetry company which creates interactive experiences for children through storytelling, literacy, and hands-on puppet activities. Known for its original puppet show production, “Who’s In My Jungle?” 1202Puppets combines live puppetry, audience participation, music, and creative learning to help children engage through imagination and play. The company also provides puppet-making workshops as part of its SEL-based program, Empuptry, which helps children learn about different emotions through puppetry using hands-on creative activities and storytelling experiences. Through performances, workshops, and community events, 1202Puppets partners with schools, libraries, museums, camps, and organizations to create meaningful experiences for children and families.

J.P. Miller

Raised in Asheville, North Carolina, J.P Miller developed a lifelong love of reading and a passion for stories that highlight the experiences and contributions of the African American Diaspora. After graduating from Tennessee State University, J.P. Miller served in the United States Air Force as a Desert Storm veteran and dedicated more than 30 years to federal service, including work with the U.S. Forest Service. Drawing from a career in youth programs, athletics, and community service, she now writes children’s picture books that educate, inspire, and celebrate little-known and well-known heroes. Through engaging storytelling, the author seeks to spark cultural awareness, break down barriers, and create meaningful stories that resonate with young readers, parents, and educators alike.

Jai Ferrell

Jai Ferrell is an award-winning storyteller, creative, and business executive with experience is youth development, aviation, sports marketing, and media. Notably, she is the first woman of color to serve as the Chief Executive Officer for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Council in its 100-year history. She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Spelman College, Master of Arts from Georgia State University, and a Certificate of Management Excellence from Harvard Business School. Her book Lola the Butterfly explores themes of courage, patience, belief, and transformation as it follows Lola the caterpillar’s journey to find her wings.
