Everyone has the right to live with dignity, joy, and belonging. The LGBTQ+ Institute advances equity through advocacy, storytelling, and intergenerational programs rooted in the power and resilience of community.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
You(th) Belong
A monthly series created by and for LGBTQ+ youth in Atlanta. These sessions foster joyful learning, shared reflection, and peer-led advocacy with support from community mentors and educators.
Georgia Youth Advocacy Fellowship
Supports emerging LGBTQ+ leaders statewide with mentorship, storytelling, and organizing skills. Fellows lead projects tied to civic change, public education, and policy advocacy.
National Youth Advocacy Corps
A national initiative uplifting queer youth leadership through digital storytelling, community projects, and summits. Focused on intersectionality, action, and amplifying young voices nationwide.
IGNYTE Conference
A powerful convening of LGBTQ+ activists, health leaders, and community advocates focused on equity, healing, and resilience. In partnership with NAESM, this annual conference centers queer communities and the fight for social justice.
LGBTQ+ Institute Programs
Bayard Rustin Society
Named for the pioneering strategist behind the March on Washington, the Bayard Rustin Society is a giving circle that supports LGBTQ+ justice through collective philanthropy, civic leadership, and public engagement. Members advance The Center’s work while honoring a legacy of intersectional advocacy.
AIDS Walk Atlanta
We participate in Georgia’s largest HIV/AIDS fundraiser and awareness event to build solidarity, support access to care, and honor the lives lost and the activism that followed.
Southern Survey
A landmark research initiative amplifying the voices and experiences of LGBTQ Southerners. Conducted with Emory University, the survey informs policy, drives programming, and strengthens the case for a more inclusive South.
LGBTQ+ Institute Programs
The LGBTQ+ Institute hosts and partners on events that uplift stories, deepen belonging, and activate collective joy and justice.
