The completed two-wing, 28,733-square-foot expansion features:
- An immersive Family Gallery designed for children under 12 to explore the principles of rights and justice through hands-on learning.
- The Activation Lab, where visitors engage with tools and resources to create personalized action plans on the issues that matter most to them.
- A gallery dedicated to the Reconstruction Era, illuminating this pivotal chapter in U.S. history with depth and clarity.
- Refreshed permanent exhibits on civil and human rights, alongside a redesigned gallery showcasing the papers and artifacts of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
- State-of-the-art classrooms and flexible event spaces now available for school groups, community meetings, and cultural performances.
- A welcoming café that offers space for reflection and conversation at the close of each visit.
