Statement from President and CEO Jill Savitt on the passing of Dan Moore Sr.
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights mourns the loss of activist, author, and filmmaker Dan Moore Sr. He lastingly enriched Atlanta as the founder and executive director of its oldest Black history museum, the African American Panoramic Experience (APEX). Dan dedicated his life to preserving and sharing the rich history of the struggles and triumphs of people of African descent locally, nationally, and globally. His work is an inspiration to anyone who pursues the truth of history. We send our deepest condolences to his loved ones and colleagues.
