    Join author Katina Lett for a special Storytime in the Change Agent Adventure gallery as she reads her book Jett Gets a Pet. Through this heartwarming story, young readers will follow Jett's exciting journey and discover lessons about responsibility, kindness, and caring for others. Perfect for children and families, this interactive Storytime offers a unique opportunity to hear directly from the author while celebrating the joy of reading and storytelling.     Become a detective for justice and uncover the stories of remarkable changemakers throughout the Center. During this interactive, family-friendly side quest, guests will follow clues hidden throughout the galleries to identify influential Hispanic and Indigenous leaders whose courage, creativity, and determination helped shape their communities and advance human rights. As families explore the Center, they’ll engage more deeply with the exhibitions while learning about the many ways individuals can create positive change. Complete the quest, solve the mystery, and earn a special prize while celebrating the contributions and lasting impact of Hispanic and Indigenous changemakers whose stories continue to inspire future generations.

    Join us this Saturday for an unforgettable experience with interactive storyteller Mama Koku, who will lead high-energy, improvised storytelling sessions at 12 p.m. Known for her magnetic stage presence, Mama Koku transforms storytelling into “story-doing,” inviting children and families to step into the narrative and become part of the performance. Each session is lively, creative, and completely unique, blending imagination, movement, and collaboration in a way that keeps audiences fully engaged. While you’re here, be sure to explore Change Agent Adventure: Children’s Gallery, an interactive space designed for children 12 and under. This hands-on “secret headquarters” invites kids to play, create, and build confidence as they discover what it means to be a changemaker. About the Storyteller Mama Koku is a celebrated teaching artist and storyteller known throughout Metro Atlanta for her dynamic and interactive style. A graduate with honors from North Carolina Central University, she studied theater with concentrations in performance and education. She began her career as a high school theatre teacher, where she honed her work as a storyteller and children’s writer.     Get creative while exploring big ideas at the Center during this special Change Agent Craft activity. Families are invited to create a seasonal craft inspired by the values of belonging, justice, empathy, and standing up for others. Through hands-on making and imaginative expression, children will reflect on what it means to build inclusive communities and care for one another. Designed for young changemakers and their caregivers, this drop-in activity encourages creativity, conversation, and learning through play. Guests will leave with a unique craft and a reminder that even small acts of kindness, courage, and compassion can help create positive change in the world around us.

CIVICS 4 ALL AGES! is a special family learning experience that helps participants better understand how government works, why civic engagement matters, and how individuals can create change in their communities. Through engaging discussions and real-world examples, families will explore the foundations of civics in a welcoming and accessible environment.  Hosted in the Action Lab and Rotunda, the program is designed for both adults and young learners, with activities tailored to each audience. The experience begins with youth-focused programming that introduces civic concepts through interactive, kid-friendly activities before shifting to sessions designed for adults, allowing every family member to participate and learn.
