National Buy Nothing Day at the Center

November 28 | 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The day after Thanksgiving is often known as one of the biggest shopping days of the year, but National Buy Nothing Day invites us to pause and think differently about consumption, community, and the impact of our choices. Join the Center for an afternoon of learning and reflection as we explore how everyday purchasing decisions affect people, communities, and the environment. Through engaging activities and conversations, visitors will gain new perspectives on ethical consumption and discover ways to make more intentional choices.

In partnership with the Atlanta Tool Bank and CHaRM (Center for Hard to Recycle Materials), guests can participate in special “My Passion” sessions to learn about each organization’s mission and how they help build a more sustainable Atlanta. The event will also feature an ethical footprint-themed art activity, a live artist painting experience, and a donation collection that encourages giving back to the community. Whether you’re interested in reducing waste, rethinking consumer habits, or finding practical ways to make a positive impact, National Buy Nothing Day at the Center offers an inspiring opportunity to explore sustainability, stewardship, and community action.
