The methods and tactics used by the white supremacist organizations in Charlottesville are abhorrent and run counter to the struggle for human rights both domestically and globally. While we respect the right to peaceful assembly and protest, we condemn the verbal and physical violence of any group that seeks to infringe upon the basic human rights of others.
We must all reflect on the past, be inspired by civil and human rights leaders to transform our nation by acting courageously.
