A Worthy Objective: National Teachers Day at the Center

In honor of National Teachers Day, the Center invites educators to enjoy an afternoon of inspiration, exploration, and appreciation. Inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s belief that education should provide both “the power of concentration” and “worthy objectives on which to concentrate,” this special event offers teachers the opportunity to experience the Center at their own pace while discovering exhibitions, programs, and resources designed to support learning beyond the classroom.
Throughout the afternoon, the Education Team will spotlight resources available to teachers through facilitated Field Guide experiences and Traveling Trunk demonstrations, providing ideas for bringing civil and human rights education into classrooms and learning spaces. Educators can also participate in art and history activities that celebrate the curiosity and creativity at the heart of great teaching. Whether you’re looking for classroom inspiration, educational tools, or simply an afternoon to explore, we invite you to celebrate the power of education at the Center.
