During this interactive, family-friendly side quest, guests will follow clues hidden throughout the galleries to identify influential Hispanic and Indigenous leaders whose courage, creativity, and determination helped shape their communities and advance human rights. As families explore the Center, they’ll discover inspiring stories, sharpen their observation skills, and learn how individuals can create meaningful change through leadership, advocacy, and service. Complete the quest, solve the mystery, and earn a special prize while celebrating the lasting impact of Hispanic and Indigenous changemakers whose legacies continue to inspire us today.

Continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a special Storytime at the Center. Join us this Saturday for an unforgettable experience with interactive storyteller Mama Koku, who will lead high-energy, improvised storytelling sessions at 12 p.m. Known for her magnetic stage presence, Mama Koku transforms storytelling into “story-doing,” inviting children and families to step into the narrative and become part of the performance. Each session is lively, creative, and completely unique, blending imagination, movement, and collaboration in a way that keeps audiences fully engaged. While you’re here, be sure to explore Change Agent Adventure: Children’s Gallery, an interactive space designed for children 12 and under. This hands-on “secret headquarters” invites kids to play, create, and build confidence as they discover what it means to be a changemaker. About the Storyteller Mama Koku is a celebrated teaching artist and storyteller known throughout Metro Atlanta for her dynamic and interactive style. A graduate with honors from North Carolina Central University, she studied theater with concentrations in performance and education. She began her career as a high school theatre teacher, where she honed her work as a storyteller and children’s writer. Families are invited to create a seasonal craft inspired by the values of belonging, justice, empathy, and standing up for others. Through hands-on making and imaginative expression, children will reflect on what it means to build inclusive communities and care for one another. Designed for young changemakers and their caregivers, this drop-in activity encourages creativity, conversation, and learning through play. Guests will leave with a unique craft and a reminder that even small acts of kindness, courage, and compassion can help create positive change in the world around us.
