Joel L. Pascaner

Joel L. Pascaner is a Principal with Jones and Kolb.  Joel has over 40 years of accounting experience, including 18 years as a Partner with a public accounting firm prior to joining Jones and Kolb.  Joel specializes in providing comprehensive tax and advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and families.  He is an expert in the areas of estates and trusts, partnerships, S corporations, and privately held entities.  Joel also has extensive experience representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing jurisdictions.

Joel is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Atlanta Tax Forum, and the Atlanta Estate Planning Council.  In addition, he is an at-large member of the Council of the Georgia State Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA) and a member of its Ethics Committee (having previously served as its Chair).  Joel served as Chair of the GSCPA Tax Section where he earned the Distinguished Section Leader Award and has been a member of their Federal and State, Financial Advisory, and Estate and Financial Planning Task Forces.  He also Chaired the Tax Legislation Subcommittee where he was involved in the drafting and introduction of proposed legislation.  Joel also cohosted a series of radio broadcasts on Business Radio X.

Joel has authored numerous articles in professional and industry publications.  He is a graduate of the Philanthropic Advisor Leadership Institute and was awarded the “Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager” by Atlanta Magazine.  Joel served on the Planning Committee of the Balser Symposium, the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Disability Network, the Board of Trustees of Georgia Shakespeare, and the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and was their Treasurer.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee of First Step Staffing and the Finance Committee of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Joel earned a B.S. in Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds an M.S. in Taxation.  He was Co-Chairman of the Atlanta Alumni Interview Program for the University of Pennsylvania.
