As part of Civic Season, The Center will be hosting two Advocacy Academy sessions on Sunday, June 12th at The Center’s Glenn Room. Join us for this 90-minute workshop and learn how to plan an advocacy and communications campaign. Planning an advocacy and communications campaign takes a coordinated plan of action and requires strategic development. This interactive workshop will help you think critically about how to act on issues you care about. There is no experience necessary to participate in this workshop. 

The Out Down South podcast is coming soon to speakers near you, and to kick things off, the Atlanta LGBTQ+ History Project is hosting a showcase of Atlanta’s best queer talent! Join us at Out Front Theatre on Friday, June 24th at 8pm for an evening starring an all-LGBTQ+ roster of storytellers, comedians, drag performers, and musicians. Your ticket purchase will help us create and sustain the Out Down South podcast, which features interviews with the legendary local LGBTQ+ activists, artists, and leaders who put Atlanta on the queer cultural map and created the thriving communities we love today. The Atlanta LGBTQ+ History Project has been creating oral histories with a diverse array of honored queer Atlantans, and we’re thrilled to bring these amazing stories to you through the Out Down South Podcast. With your support, we can gather the South’s rich queer history, to share with today’s audiences, and preserve for generations to come. In partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, IHG Hotels & Resorts is providing free admission to The Center on Saturday, June 25 in celebration of Pride Month. Visitors will have access to powerful exhibits, such as "Rolls Down Like Water" and the newest King exhibit, "A Legacy of Creative Protest: King & Youth Activism." Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis, so visitors are encouraged to reserve online in advance.

Join The Center this summer for Human Rights 101—a series of workshops for young learners 10 and under that explore themes related to civil and human rights. This programming is free and open to the public. Young learners will have the opportunity to participate in immersive performance pieces, have conversations regarding specific program themes, and close out each workshop with craft projects that relate to the theme of the session.
