NCCHR statement on recent violence against the AAPI Community

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights is deeply saddened by the tragic murder of Asian Americans in our city of Atlanta on Tuesday, March 16.  We stand in solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and condemn violence committed against groups because of their identity. The rise in violent attacks against the AAPI community is rooted in bigotry and xenophobia and has been fanned by lies and irresponsible rhetoric. We want to amplify the work of organizations like Stop AAPI Hate, that fight anti-Asian hate and racism and uplift Asian communities across the country. We join the calls to #StopAsianHate.
