Atlanta, GA – Neil Phillips is working to empower Atlanta’s youth through his Black-led organization Guide Outreach, which offers children exposure to career experience and self-care techniques, among other vital skills and knowledge for today’s youth. Through workshops, discussions, and community forums, as well as opportunities for advocacy, leadership, and volunteering, Phillips hopes to combat the inequities within the criminal justice system, which disproportionately affects marginalized communities, especially within communities of color. This fellowship will allow Phillips to host sessions on topics like nonviolent conflict resolution and wellness, facilitate panel discussions, and host a collaborative volunteer project, empowering them with the knowledge, tools, and strategies they need to build confidence, community, and their future.
