Columbus, GA – Dr. Jaketra Bryant is working on breaking cycles of incarceration in justice-impacted families and communities. Dr. Bryant has years of experience as a licensed counselor. With a long-term mission of removing structural barriers, she is working toward her goal of preventing gang violence and incarceration through counseling practices. In the past, Dr. Bryant has promoted Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training and cultural sensitivity practices in various workplaces. She has also worked directly with families and children from marginalized communities, focusing on protecting mental health and establishing boundaries to cultivate healthier relationships. This fellowship provides an opportunity to focus her services on the justice-impacted communities that need it most while making a tangible positive change in inter-family and inter-community relationships, mitigating the risk of incarceration.
