Women Fighting for the Right to Vote

  • This events has passed.

Throughout American history, women have fought for the right to vote. Think about the role Stacey Abrams’ organization, Fair Fight, played in the 2020 election. That effort followed a significant tradition. Our program, Women Fighting for the Right to Vote, explores the actions women have taken in history and today to secure the right to vote—from the Civil Rights Movement on. This program will also cover actions women—and everyone—can take to increase turnout in 2022.

Join The Center for a conversation about the legacy of the women of the Civil Rights Movement and their influence on the organizations led by women whose work to register voters in Georgia changed the course of an election.

Panelists:

  • Tamieka Atkins, Executive Director of ProGeorgia
