To kick off Trans Awareness Week, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights is hosting a conversation about what safety, freedom, and equity mean for the transgender community in the face of rising anti-trans legislation. In 33 states, more than 100 bills have been introduced that restrict transgender rights — on issues ranging from medical care to participation in school sports to violence.
