The Art of Being LC

  • This events has passed.
Free

In honor of International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, 2016, The Center invites you to witness the story of Lois Curtis. In 1999, this Decatur Georgia native stood before the U.S. Supreme Court to demand her rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act to life in community rather than be segregated in institutions. From institutionalization to the U.S. Supreme Court, LC blazed a path of freedom for herself and countless others. Following the film, we will host a talk back session.

Parking is available at the World of Coca-Cola Parking deck for $10. Please enter through the back of the building at our Ivan Allen entrance closest to the water features.

Event attendees are welcome to pay general admission to tour the Center for Civil and Human Rights before and/or after the film screening! If you choose to tour, please enter at the front box office on Pemberton Place. You may purchase your tickets to the museum by clicking here.
