This first installment of ALLIANCE(S) in Action features In the Southern Breeze by Emory Fellow and Yale School of Drama graduate, Jireh Breon Holder and directed by Leora Morris. The play tells the story of 4 African American men from different time periods (a slave, a free man of color, Huey Newton, and a gay New Yorker from the 1980’s) who collide in the woods. This play asks us to take a hard look at how our society has treated and continues to treat African American men and challenges us to transform our world so that every person’s freedoms are respected and hopes are possible

6:30 PM: Opening remarks and start of reading
