Your Guide to Inspiring Students

When educators bring their students to The Center, they are providing them with a unique interactive experience that connects the U.S. Civil Rights Movement to global human rights movements today.

Students will experience immersive exhibits, inspiring artifacts, storytelling and much more. Our goal is to educate and inspire students to actively engage in protecting human rights within their communities, country and worldwide.

Comprehensive Guides for Grades 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 are available for download and use before, during and after your visit. These guides contain STEAM-related classroom lesson plans along with additional activities and project ideas for you to use and share. Teacher Guides are directly correlated to the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and English Language Arts, along with the Next Generation Science Standards and the C3 Framework for Social Studies State Standards. Also included are the Georgia Standards of Excellence for your planning needs. You will also find ready-to-copy activity worksheets, with detailed instructions for both teachers and students, allowing for straight-forward assessment.
