Soon Mee Kim

Soon Mee Kim is Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for the Omnicom Communications Consultancy Network, a division of Omnicom Group and comprised of 27 global agency brands across communications, public affairs and brand consulting within the Omnicom Public Relations Group and Omnicom Brand Consulting Group. In short, she is a catalyst for systemic equity within the Omnicom People
Engagement Network (OPEN), working with intention and urgency to drive change.

Recognized as an industry pacesetter, Soon Mee’s expertise is in architecting innovative practices, programs and policies to create more just and inclusive workplaces. She was most recently executive vice president and Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leader for Porter Novelli, the global purpose communications consultancy, where she led award-winning initiatives such as “We Stand for Love,” using storytelling to change hearts and minds. Her career is rooted in the field of communications, leading practice areas, advising clients, and managing teams.

Soon Mee is passionate about the power of the workplace to drive societal impact. She was recognized as the 2023 Diversity Champion of the Year by the Hispanic Public Relations Association, the 2022 Diversity Champion of the Year in the Industry Legend category by the Diversity Action Alliance, and the 2022 PRSA Foundation Paladin Leadership Award honoree. In 2021, she was named to the PRWeek Power List of most influential communicators and PROVOKE recognized her with the Innovation Achievement SABRE Award. In 2020, she received the ADCOLOR Legend award for her commitment to mentorship. She has received additional accolades from ColorComm, Forbes, PR Council, PRWeek, PROVOKE and others.

She currently serves on the national boards of ColorComm, The LAGRANT Foundation (TLF), and the Forum for Theological Exploration (FTE). She is a founding member of VOICES for AAPI, and is a founder and executive sponsor of Omnicom Asian Leaders Circle, the network-wide AAPI employee resource group. She is active in The Conference Board’s DEI Innovator’s Council and in her local community as an editorial advisory board member for Atlanta Magazine, and co-chair for Leadership Atlanta’s race awareness weekend. She is a frequent writer and speaker on broad topics of diversity, equity and inclusion, and has been a leading voice on anti-Asian hate.

A proud daughter of Korean immigrants, Soon Mee is a wife, mother, sister, aunt, friend and mentor to many.
