August D. Hammonds

Chair

August is an audit partner in Ernst & Young’s Atlanta office and has over 20 years of public accounting experience serving publicly registered multinational clients primarily in the consumer products and retail and building products industries.

She has significant involvement in coordinating global services for SEC registrants, including the execution of integrated audits of the financial statements and internal control over financial reporting, and periodic SEC filings. Throughout her career serving both public and private clients, August has extensive experience in various financial accounting and auditing matters, including acquisitions, divestitures, revenue recognition, asset impairment analyses and restructurings. She also has assisted clients with first year audit transitions, material weakness remediations, and system implementations.

August also served as a US GAAP expert to various multinational accounts while being based in Ernst & Young’s Brussels office for two years.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Masters in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is currently licensed by the State Board of Accountancy in Georgia. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

August serves on UNC Chapel Hill’s Board of Visitors and the Alumni Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity. August is a member of the Lumbee American Indian Tribe of North Carolina.
