Atlanta, GA – The Atlanta Community Support Project is giving incarcerated people a way to connect with the legislators representing their prison districts. With a goal of community mobilization to end mass incarceration in Georgia, ACSP uses its organizing infrastructure to give people impacted by the criminal system a way to have their concerns heard during the Georgia legislative process. During the 2025 Georgia Legislative Session, ACSP served as a vital link between people on the inside and lawmakers, helping to shape informed discussions around the bills being debated and decided. This fellowship provided an opportunity to demonstrate how impactful it is to uplift and support small and timely community-led actions, serving as proof of how crucial “mini-initiatives” are to catalyzing change within directly impacted communities.
