What are Respectability Politics and how have they influenced the way women are perceived in their personal and professional lives? Join The Center for a conversation during Women’s History Month about the Politics of Respectability and what that has looked like for women over the years, from The Civil Rights Movement to modern day. Guests will discuss how they are moving beyond the Politics of Respectability and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered live.
Attendees will hear from Judge Renata Turner, a Presiding Judge of the Fulton County Juvenile Court, Kiley Domineck, Sophomore at The Life School, Kheris Rogers, CEO of “Flexin’ In My Complexion, and Yterenickia ‘YT’ Bell, Former Clarkston City Council Member. This conversation will be moderated by Tye Tavaras, Associate Director of Global Strategy and Initiatives at Emory University.
