King and Africa Opening Reception With Panel Discussion

The Center for Civil and Human Rights opens its newest collection in the Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection: “King and Africa: Connecting Continents” with a reception and conversation. “King and Africa” sheds light on Dr. King’s influence in continental Africa.

After the reception, hear how Dr. King’s philosophy in non-violence and civil rights still impacts communities across the globe today. Panelists include:

  • Dr. Kali-Ahset Amen, Assistant Director of the James Weldon Johnson Institute at Emory University
  • Derreck Kayongo, CEO for The National Center for Civil and Human Rights
  • Dr. Samuel Livingston, Associate Professor and Director of African American Studies Program at Morehouse College.
