Two landmark decisions by the Supreme Court legalized same sex marriage in all 50 States, and upheld a key part of the President's Healthcare program, Obamacare. Meanwhile a racially motivated mass shooting in a church prompted a heated row about the place of the Confederate Flag within modern America.
