This summer, bring the civil and human rights movement to life with family and friends at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. We will have interactive and immersive programs and activities for families of all ages May-August 2023 . Register for one of our evening programs, or purchase tickets to The Center to participate in one of our interactive activities. Summer Programming

+ LGBTQ Institute Symposium | June 8-10 | Multiple Locations

The LGBTQ Institute is proud to be part of the NAESM National Leadership Conference on Health Disparities and Social Justice. The nation’s largest annual convening explores prevention, care, treatment, policy, and research advances related to the health and wellness of Black same-gender-loving men. The event starts at The Center and continues in various locations, enabling participants to network, build community, and lean into the joy critical to persevering in the fight for social justice.

+ Jubilee: A Juneteenth Celebration | June 17 – 19 | NCCHR

Join The Center for a day of engagement to celebrate Juneteenth through music, history, and culture. This program explores the history of Juneteenth and the new traditions being created in honor of this joyous occasion. Juneteenth is the celebration of the emancipation of people who were enslaved in America, and the continued celebration and liberation throughout time. This event is included with paid admission to The Center. 

+Kidspiration | June 24 @11-4PM | NCCHR

The National Center for Civil and Human Rights presents, Kidspiration a fun and interactive summer program teaching kids ages 4-12 how to tap their power to influence the world around them and be active citizens. It incorporates various activities and performances that educate and entertain the youth about voting, freedom and equality, advocacy, and other topics related to civic engagement. Kidspiration is presented in partnership with PNC. Kidspiration is free and open to the public.  Click here to register!

+Film Screening: A Dream Delivered  | June 24 @ 6-8PM | NCCHR

Join The National Center for Civil and Human Rights for a screening of “A Dream Delivered: The Lost Letters of Hawkins Wilson”, a documentary, chronicling the incredible story of an African American family who embarks on a journey of discovery after a lost letter from a formerly enslaved ancestor is unearthed. This event is included with paid admission to The Center. Click here to register!

+Youth Belong… in the Arts: A Pride Month Celebration | June 29 @ 5:30PM | Glenn Room 

Young people ages 13-24 in Metro Atlanta are invited to gather and gain skills in leadership, advocacy, and determining their own futures. The monthly get-togethers provide spaces for youth to engage with leaders and change-makers and to cultivate experiences that nurture authentic and empowering relationships. The LGBTQ Institute, Kaleidoscope Village, and a coalition of partner organizations and youth advocates, co-created this program to connect Atlanta’s Youth with the city’s rich LGBTQ+ history, legacy, and culture.
