Spring Break at The Center

The Center will host a series of activities from April 1 – April 9 in celebration of spring break. Each day will hold a different activity dedicated to teaching civil and human rights values to families and children of all ages. Grab a group and spend spring break at The Center. Discounts are available for online ticket purchase and groups of 4!

**All spring break activities will take place on the 3rd floor Mezzanine and end at 4 PM daily. **

Activity Schedule

Tuesday

  • Protest posters: Families can show what they believe in through the art of protest. Take any premade poster and transform it through creativity to show what you would protest about. Materials provided- poster, handle, stickers, colored pencils, crayons, markers, glue. 
  • Daffodil Coloring Flowers: Visitors will color a daffodil template and collage there are within the Center in honor of the Daffodil Project. 
  • Spring Break Banner: Commemorate your time at the Center by signing our Spring Break Banner!
  • Scavenger Hunt: Travel throughout our Civil Rights galleries to discover facts and knowledge! Learn and explore the Center! 

Wednesday

Thursday

  • Mural Art: Mural Art A. Use teamwork to create a mural of a famous leader of civil or human rights causes. Each person will take one square and color and design it as they see fit. Afterwards they as a group can piece together each square and fit it together into a single image. Materials provided- poster, colored pencils, crayons, and markers. Mural Art B. Collage and create a personal mural about a famous leader of he civil and human rights movements. Materials provided- craft supplies (pom poms, construction paper), glue, paper, colored pencils, crayons, markers, and glitter.

Saturday

  • Magnet Making: Create a keepsake for yourself and make your own magnet. Use pre-printed templates to create your magnet or stretch your imagination and create a design by hand. Materials provided- magnet making materials, colored pencils, crayons, and markers.
  • Spring Break Banner: Commemorate your time at the Center by signing our Spring Break Banner! 
  • Daffodil Coloring Flower: Visitors will color a daffodil template and collage there are within the Center in honor of the Daffodil Project.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Travel throughout our Civil Rights galleries to discover facts and knowledge! Learn and explore the Center! 

Sunday

  • Bracelet Making: Create another keepsake and make your won bracelet. Weave together beads to display what you feel about civil and human rights! Materials provided- breads and wire.
  • Spring Break Banner: Commemorate your time at the Center by signing our Spring Break Banner! 
  • Daffodil Coloring Flower: Visitors will color a daffodil template and collage there are within the Center in honor of the Daffodil Project.
