Release: Women’s Solidarity Society Reaches Fundraising Goal

Atlanta, GA – May 14, 2014 – The Women’s Solidarity Society (WSS), an affinity group of The National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR), announced today that they have surpassed their fundraising goal of $1 million. WSS brings women in the community together to support programs and initiatives regarding women and girls within the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

The achievement of this significant goal adds to the momentum around The Center’s much-anticipated June 23rd Grand Opening on Pemberton Place adjacent to the World of Coca-Cola and the Aquarium.

WSS was envisioned by NCCHR board chair, former Mayor Shirley Franklin. The Society is comprised of approximately 160 women who made up to a three-year commitment to support gender-based issues, and to ensure The Center’s
contemporary Human Rights exhibition gallery, Spark of Conviction, features ongoing content and programming focused on women’s and girls’ issues.
