Join us Thursday, December 16 for the Reimagining American Democracy series’ seventh and final episode, on the subject of “Democracy in America, Democracy in the World.” This event will feature Deval Patrick, former governor of Massachusetts, Ibram X. Kendi, founding director of the Boston University Center for Antiracist Research, and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former NATO secretary general and founder of the Alliance of Democracies Foundation, Nsé Ufot, CEO of the New Georgia Project, Natasha Cloud, player in the Washington Mystics, Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook, director and CEO of the German Council on Foreign Relations, Khalid Pitts, executive vice president at FairVote, Jan-Werner Müller, professor of politics at Princeton University, Nicole Bibbins Sedaca, executive vice president at Freedom House, and Lee Drutman, senior fellow at New America, in a discussion on the role of American democracy in the world, moderated by former CNN correspondent Jeanne Meserve.

Many believe that American democracy was built on an unequal foundation long in need of repair. Others contend that the system has weathered the worst threats, and the fundamentals simply need reinforcement. But experts to the left, right, and center agree: democracy in America must move forward.

Series sponsors include Aegon/Transamerica and Compass Point Group, LLC. The Atlanta Press Club and ATL PBA are media partners of the series.
