We invite you to join us as we kick off Black History Month with our upcoming Children’s Storytime featuring a new piece from the Alliance Theatre called “Sit-In.” Created by Atlanta’s bestselling author, playwright, and Civil Rights Activist Pearl Cleage, “Sit-In” follows three friends as they learn about the sit-ins of the Civil Rights era, and powerfully apply those lessons to issues they–and we all–face today.
At the completion of the story experience, we will be joined by Alliance Theatre Artist Maya Lawrence who will walk us through an art project themed to compliment the video.
Run time of the video is 30 mins.
We are also providing an accompanying video which will be a pre-recorded conversation with the playwright Pearl Cleage and others to discuss throughs and ideas for continuing the conversation with your children after they’ve seen the piece.
