SUMMARY:Author Talk with Atia Abawi: The Current State of Afghan Women - Why Should We Care?
DESCRIPTION:International journalist and author Atia Abawi joins us for a conversation about the current situation of Afghan women and children now that the Taliban are back in power. Women in Afghanistan have been effectively cut off from society and girls have been banned from school after 6th grade. What does this mean for them? What does it mean for us? Are there ways to help? \nJoin The Center on March 15 at 7pm for the discussion. This event is free and open to the public\, but requires a registration.
