On November 18th, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights and the authors of Freeing Freddie the Dream Weaver are conducting free workshops for youth and parents.

Kindergarten - 5th Grade Workshop

Workshop for Kindergarten – 5th Grade Students

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

This workshop includes a a story reading, discussion on bravery and crafting their own “Brave Mask”.

Participants will be divided into two groups of children with their chaperones to complete the activities. Each participant will receive a book and an activity workbook.

All children must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

6th - 8th Grade Workshop

Workshop for 6th – 8th Graders

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This workshop includes a reading, discussion on bravery and reflection time for participants to write inspirational letters to themselves. Participants will learn how to deal with fear and how to create their dreams.

Each participant will receive a book and an activity workbook.

All children must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

Adult/Parent Workshop

Workshop for Parents and Adults

1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

This workshop starts with a discussion on how fear debilitates our lives. Discussion includes dealing with debilitating fear and working with other people to overcome. Participants will also have time to complete a written reflection.

Each participant will receive a book and activity workbook.
