Voter suppression, partisan gerrymandering, closed polling locations, I.D. laws and restrictions for voting by mail have disenfranchised voters for years, with more restrictions piling up from local jurisdictions to the Federal Government.

The COVID-19 pandemic has created further hurdles for voters as we approach the general election in November. The recent country wide protests in response to systemic racism shines a light on the importance of an accessible and fair vote.

As part of the Campaign for Equal Dignity, The Center welcomed Fair Fight and New Georgia Project for a conversation about the current issues voters face and how to ensure the right to vote is extended to all people.

Moderator:
Mo Ivory, Professor of Law and Director of the Entertainment, Sports and Media Law Initiative at Georgia State University College of Law

Panelists:
Hillary Holley, Director of Organizing, Fair Fight
Toni Watkins, Reproductive Justice Organizer, The New Georgia Project
