Role

The Center is currently seeking a customer-focused, dynamic individual for the part-time position of Group Sales Assistant.  The Group Sales Assistant reports directly to the Group Marketing Manager with liaison to the Visitor Experience Supervisor. The role of this position is multitasking as a Brand Ambassador and a Call Center Representative. This role also requires a team member that is confident, outgoing, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in receiving inbound phone calls and emails, providing information on tours, pricing, parking, and other general information 
  • Make outbound calls, responding to inquiries and providing outreach to group sales leads 
  • Route calls to the appropriate department or employee when needed 
  • Perform group bookings, using Altru reservation and ticketing system 
  • Process customer payments  
  • Provide professional customer interaction 
  • Ensure that customers understand information, and be able to provide additional information to customers as needed 
  • Recognize, troubleshoot, and handle customer service issues with politeness and consideration 
  • Be an outreach Ambassador, including but not limited to: distribution of group/admissions marketing material which includes working exhibit tables on and off site 
  • Communicate effectively with The Center staff to ensure high quality and timely expedition of customer requests 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Core Competencies 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Willingness to engage in sales and customer calling 
  • Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft applications, as well as web-based applications 
  • Experience with databases, ticketing systems, and/or online sales applications preferred 
  • Punctuality and consistent work attendance 
  • Must be available to work weekends on a regular basis 
  • Customer Service experience required 
  • Must be able to actively engage with the general public 
  • Sales experience a plus 

Physical Requirements 

  • Extended periods of standing and/or sitting 
  • Primarily desk work e.g. working on a computer and answering phones 
  • Cognitive ability to timely make and communicate decisions consistent with organizational policy 
  • Ability to lift, carry, and or move up to 25 pounds 
  • Bending, reaching, kneeling
